How to Import Files from Google Drive to Ellipticc Drive

One-Click Google Drive Import: Client-side, E2EE, and PQC

We added a one-click import from Google Drive straight into your Ellipticc Drive dashboard. It is entirely client-side: you click “Import from Google Drive,” authenticate with Google, pick the files or folders you want, and your browser fetches and encrypts the files locally before uploading them to your Ellipticc Drive account. The backend is not involved in file selection and never sees your plaintext.

How it works (very short)

  1. Click “Import from Google Drive” in your dashboard.
  2. Authenticate with Google and select files or folders to import.
  3. Your browser fetches each file, encrypts it using our client-side E2EE with PQC where applicable, and uploads the encrypted blob to your account.
  4. Verify imports in the dashboard and revoke the Google app token when you are done.

What this means for privacy and security

  • Zero-knowledge during import: Ellipticc never sees plaintext during file selection or transfer.
  • Strong crypto at the client: files are encrypted locally before they leave your machine, with post-quantum hardening applied to key material.
  • Limited OAuth scopes: we request only the permissions needed to read the files you choose.
